This Privacy Policy describes how Messing & Spector LLP ("the firm" or "we") collects, uses, and shares information through this website, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide. When you submit the form on this page, we collect the information you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, the retailers you identify, and any purchase details you choose to share.
Information collected automatically. When you visit this page, we and our service providers automatically collect standard technical information: IP address, general location inferred from it, device and browser type, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies. If you arrive from an online advertisement, we may also receive ad-click identifiers (such as a Google click ID or a Meta/Facebook click ID) that help measure whether our ads work.
Advertising and analytics. This page is promoted through online advertising platforms, which may include Google Ads and Meta (the platform behind Facebook and Instagram). These platforms may set cookies or use similar technologies (such as the Google tag or the Meta Pixel) to measure ad performance (for example, recording that a visit or form submission followed an ad click) and, if enabled, to show related ads to past visitors. How we use information. We use the information described above to review your inquiry, contact you about it, evaluate potential legal claims, operate and secure this page, measure advertising performance, and comply with legal and professional obligations. We do not use your form submission for unrelated marketing.
When we share information. We share information only with: the firm's lawyers and staff; co-counsel evaluating or handling the matter; service providers that operate this page, its form, and our advertising measurement, including Google and Meta (who may use it only to provide those services); and others when required by law, legal process, or our professional responsibilities, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information. To the extent advertising cookies could be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under some state laws, you may opt out using the advertising controls above, the Global Privacy Control signal, or by emailing contact@messingspector.com.
Calls and text messages. If you check the contact-consent box, the firm may contact you by phone, text, or email about your request. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to texts is not a condition of the review, and you can end text contact at any time by replying STOP. If the messages do not stop, please email contact@messingspector.com.
How long we keep information. We keep submissions for as long as needed to evaluate and handle the inquiry or any resulting matter, to satisfy legal, ethical, and record-retention obligations, and then delete or de-identify them.
Security. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act's data-security requirements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if a breach affecting your information requires notice under applicable law, we will provide it.
Your privacy rights. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to know or access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, or opt out of targeted advertising or any sale or sharing of personal information. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control, where the law requires. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@messingspector.com with your request and state of residence; we will verify your identity using the information you provide and respond within the time your state's law requires. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights, and where state law provides an appeal process, you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
New York residents. The firm maintains a data-security program consistent with the New York SHIELD Act. New York residents may use the contact above with any privacy question or request, and we extend the access, correction, and deletion practices described in this policy to New York residents.
Children. This page is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under the age where consent is required in your state). If you believe a child provided information, email us and we will delete it.
Third-party sites. Links from this page, including to www.messingspector.com, lead to sites governed by their own privacy policies.
Dispute Resolution. Any disputes shall be resolved by arbitration with the American Arbitration Association. You agree to proceed individually and to waive any right to proceed on a class basis. You agree that New York law will apply to any disputes.
Changes to this policy. If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on our website, presumptively on this URL, with a new effective date.
